CELTA gives you the essential skills, knowledge and hands-on teaching practice you need to teach English to adults.














  • Teach classes of adult students of 2 different language levels for a total of six hours.
  • Observe experienced English language teachers teaching adult classes for a total of six hours.
  • Complete four written assignments.
  • Submit a portfolio including written assignments, lesson plans and materials relating to teaching practice.


Input Sessions

Candidates have interactive training workshops with the course tutors.



The assessment is continuous and integrated, which means that:

  • Assessment takes place throughout the course.
  • Each assessed component contributes to the overall grade.
  • Candidates are informed of their progress through oral and written feedback throughout the course. In addition, there are face-to-face tutorials  with a tutor.
