Why take CELTA at The Anglo?
We have job openings for the most successful CELTA graduates with our Anglo branches. This includes a bespoke mentoring program with ongoing developmental observations and feedback for graduates who are employed at any of our Anglo branches. This enables our new teachers to adapt to teaching with confidence.
Our CELTA tutors lead on professional and pedagogical development at The Anglo Mexican Foundation and our Academic Training Manager, David Valente has 20 years' ELT experience in teacher / trainer training and has authored numerous courses and teachers’ handbooks. His work has included curriculum development as well as methodology training in Australasia, Asia, Europe, the Middle East and Latin America. He has worked with Ministries of Education, publishers, private training institutes and education providers. He is also Coordinator of the IATEFL YLTSIG.
CELTA courses worldwide provide candidates with a minimum of 120 hours tuition as required by Cambridge English. However, the Anglo CELTA includes increased tutor support with lesson planning and language analysis for teaching. This enables us to respond to your emerging needs and give you every possible chance of success.
Courses are delivered at our Professional Development Centre in the heart of Mexico City, very well connected by public transport. The centre boasts superior facilities when compared with many training centers, encouraging you to think in new ways while on CELTA.
Adult ELT is rapidly changing from a traditional focus on General English, challenging assumptions that learners need English to communicate with first language speakers and/or to integrate and socialise in English-speaking countries. To reflect this, the input and teaching practice on our CELTA courses emphasise job readiness including transferable skills for teaching Business English and English for Specific Purposes as well as integrate use of educational technologies and authentic materials. We are particularly well positioned to equip you with skills for work in highly diverse adult ELT contexts.
